Too Faced Love Flush Blush Wardrobe Review

On the 27th of Jan, Mecca released the Too Faced Love Flush Blush Wardrobe. I ran straight there after Priceline. The palette comes with 6 blushes from their Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush collection. The collection itself only has 6 shades, so in total to get each blush would cost you $228 AUD however you can get a third of the blushes each in a palette for only $53 AUD. I'd say that's a great deal.

A lot of people did complain that the size of the blushes were small but they are giving you basically the entire collection for about a fourth of the total price of the full collection. As someone who is a total makeup addict and buys a ton of blushes and never hits pan, this little palette is brilliant. It has some more bronzed, peachy, true pinks and purple toned blushes. It's completely versitile and gives you the perfect amount so I might even hit pan on some of these.

The first thing I notice looking at the blushes is that there are two mattes and the rest are shimmers. So if you love shimmery blushes this would be pretty good but if you live and die for mattes, maybe pass on this and just get How Deep Is Your Love? and Your Love Is King full sized, if you like those colours that is.

The swatches I did of the two middle shades, I Will Always Love You and How Deep Is Your Love?, came out very pigmented. I barely dipped my finger in and the colours came right off. They don't have a lot of fallout and are quite buttery. They feel a lot like the colour pop eyeshadow at first touch. I like both the shimmer and the matte but the shimmer does have just a smidge more pigment.

The packaging looks great, in true Too Faced fashion, it's very girly, a lot of pink and gold. I don't mind it at all, it looks great in my collection and perfectly suits the brand. The palette is super slim and very compact. The mirror is nice but I feel its not needed, it just looks pretty.

Hidden Gems #2 - Essence Eyebrow Pencil

Ah Essence, a brand that is only somewhat talked about here in Aus. This brand definitely deserves some more recognition. Normally I don't buy from Priceline because a lot of the brands don't have quality stuff that I like, but Essence is a brand that I will go to Priceline or target for. The recently re-made all of their stuff including their eyeshadow palettes, lip pencils and eyebrow pencils. I think they only changed the packaging because the formula's are almost identical.

The shade I got was 05 Soft Blonde and it's very much a cooler shade. Its not a warm tone shade, it's almost ashy. I do like it though, it can give you that ombre effect if you're more on the darker side but overall I love using this pencil to fill in my sparse areas. I think its a great product for it's price, it comes off not too pigmented that its darker than your natural colour but it's pigmented enough that you are able to do flicks with it to create the fake hairs.

I don't think very many people reach for the Essence eyebrow pencils because brands like Anastasia Beverly Hills have pretty much slayed the brow game forever. But if you're on a budget and would like to test out a brow pencil, try reaching for one of these.

Lip Treatments That Actually Work!

There are a lot of lip balms/scrubs/treatments etc out there and as someone who suffers a lot from excessively dry lips, it can be money consuming trying to find ones that work. A lot of the time I go on the net and look for some reviews, the women who are testing the products have smooth lips. I have full on, dry lips. Like I can sit there and peel off my lips because the skin peels from being so dry. Though on some really bad days like in the middle of winter, my lips will actually bleed from cracking. My bottom lip is a lot bigger than my top one, it's not a Kardashian pout but its proportionate. My bottom lip is quite full, it sticks out and I like the size of it, however it can be a nightmare when I haven't used a lip treatment in winter and I smile but my lip splits and bleeds.

Sorry if that got quite gruesome but I want my viewers to know that, my lips aren't perfect, they certainly wouldn't be chosen as a lip model. So if you sympathise with these symptoms but are still looking for lip treatments, I've found them for you. I do want you guys to keep in mind that each to their own, some of these products may be too intense on your lips or you may be allergic to a certain ingredient. Please give them a go if you don't have sensitive lips and want to get help for your lips. I do want to disclaim that I'm not a doctor, these products aren't miracle workers, using these products once won't magically fix whatever problem your lips have, but they will make them more manageable.

The first product is a simple lip balm, this is my daily lip balm that I use in the morning before I do my makeup. I use it everyday to give my lips some moisture and plumpness about half an hour before putting on lip products. It's the Burt's Bees Nourishing Lip Balm with Mango Butter. This lipbalm has never failed me, not once. I've been using it since about mid last year and I'm still going through it. It has lasted me forever, it tastes nice (I don't even like mango). It's definitely worth a trip to target to pick one up.

The next product is one that I received in a Bellabox. It's the Chapstick Night Repair Lip Treatment. I'm not sure if you can buy this on it's own, or if it only comes in the double pack with the day repair. This treatment I use at night before bed or if I need a quick but effective moisturise. If my lips are feeling a little more dry than usual and need a quick fix, then this is what I use. It almost gives you a glossy effect on your lips.

Next is the Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm with essential rose wax. I think I heard Zoella talking about how this was one of her favourite lip balms but I'm not 100% sure. This was a mini one that I bought from a lovely lady on Facebook. I've run out of it and I need to buy more. This lip balm is one that I use as a luxury treatment, it works incredibly well but it's a little pricey. So I use this when I really feel like pampering myself or if my lips could use just a little more than the Chapstick treatment.

When you have dry lips you pretty much need to exfoliate them weekly, no more, no less. The one that I use is only $2 and I found them at Aldi. I haven't seen them around my ones anymore and I can't find them online. However if they bring them back, or you find them somewhere, get as many as you can. They came in Watermelon, Mango and Coconut. I wasn't too crazy on the coconut but the Watermelon is like a drug, I can't stop smelling it. It is perfectly formulated and moisturises while exfoliating. I haven't found any lip scrub that even comes close to this one. The lush ones I hated but these, these are amazing.

The last product I'm going to talk about is the Elizabeth Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair Balm. I tried the normal Eight Hour Cream because NikkieTutorials talked about it being perfect for her lips. I went to the store, bought one and the lady suggested I buy the lip repair balm too because I told her what I wanted the original one for. It was classic sales techniques but I still bought it. I'm glad I did because the original Eight Hour Cream burned my lips. It was way too intense and I don't even have sensitive lips. I stopped using it immediately and was a little skeptical about the lip repair balm. About a week later my lips were dead, I needed something to help them, so I picked up the balm, used it before bed and woke up with extremely plump and smooth lips. I tried using this nightly as some had suggested but I found its still a bit too intense for that. This is the perfect balm however for those really bad days when my lips are about to crack. I slap a bit on before bed and I'm usually right to go. Use in extreme cases only, I wouldn't recommend this as a daily lip balm.

NYX Intense Butter Gloss Sets

For the holiday period, NYX released 2 sets of Intense Butter Gloss sets. Each set came with 3 glosses that were completely different from the other set. The first set, (IBLGSET01) were all within the purple/cranberry family.

The first colour is Black Cherry Tart (IBLG10). It's a very dark purple, one that I think Jaclyn Hill would call a 'Fall' colour. For me it's a perfect winter colour that isn't too harsh or bold but has enough chutzpah to make a statement.

The second colour is Spice Cake (IBLG12). Its almost that perfect maroon, burgundy colour except it's not. It's got more of a purple base to it than a red base. It's a lot more on the cool side than a true maroon colour would be. However in saying that, I think it is a perfectly unique shade, I've definitely found a gem in this set that I don't own let alone in a lipgloss form.

T-B, IBLG10, IBLG12, IBLG02

The third colour in the set is Berry Strudel (IBLG02). It's as every bit as neon purple as the photo suggests. It does give off that yellow effect on your teeth but I can look past that because it is a beautiful shade!

The second set's colour scheme was a little more nude than the first set. The second set (IBLGSET02) was harder to find than the first one, I don't know if that's because they didn't stock it as much or if it was just really popular.

The first colour which I accidentally swatched back to front (IBLG09) is Sorbet. It's a lovely peachy-pink. The colour is perfect for Summer/Spring. We're currently in Summer here down under and in the heat my lips get dried out hella quick so this colour is one that I am definitely going to be reaching for often.

The second colour (IBLG11) is Tres Leches. This is that Kylie Jenner, Velvet Teddy lip colour in a gloss. There aren't many lip glosses that hold up to that expectation but this one absolutely does, it layers on well on top of a lip stick or liquid lipstick, even on it's own it's pigmented enough to give you that King Kylie pout.

The third colour (IBLG06) is Chocolate Crepe. It is very much indeed a darker version of Tres Leches. I think this would be perfect on darker skin tones, I don't tend to stick to these colours because I'm not a brown lipstick gal but this would definitely stand out on a pale skin tone as well. It does make more of a statement on a pale person rather than a tan or darker person, I think it would be more of a nude colour on them.

All in all the lip glosses are perfect. They are the most pigmented lip glosses I've ever come across and they hold up well. On an average day with little touch ups after eating, these have lasted me 12 hours and leave really nice lip stains. They don't feel cakey and tacky like most lip glosses, they're actually comfortable. The packs have a lot of variety and the packaging is on point. If you want to give lip glosses a go, I would definitely pick these up. Nyx gives you a perfect colour selection and couldn't have gotten a better formula than this. Well done Nyx.

Lazer Team Movie Premiere Inspired Makeup - MOTD | The Lipstick Hub

For the new movie Lazer Team by Rooster Teeth's premiere, I decided to use a few key products to create a metallic blue and silver themed look. My last themed look was for Troye's concert and I had a lot of fun with that but seeing as Lazer Team's promo pics and logo have a bit of a silver and blue theme to them, that's what I based my look around.

For eyeshadows I used the NYX Baked Eyeshadow in Graffiti, Makeup Geek's Poolside and Urban Decay's Vice 4 palette, specifically Beat Down. For eyeliner, I used the Lime Crime liquid eyeliner in Reason. For lips I used NYX Wicked Lippie in Stone Cold.

For a little something extra, the nail polish I used was Chi Chi Salon Formula in Starlight Starbright.

Some other products I used for the base were the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, Maybelline Fit Me concealer for under the eyes, BYS translucent loose powder to set the under eye area. For the contour I used a matte grey eyeshadow from the Morphe 35N palette and to highlight I used Hourglass' diffused light but it didn't have the effect I wanted so I used Sugar Pill's loose eyeshadow in Lumi. For the eyes I used the matte grey from the 35N palette as my base crease colour and then used the two main blues. I also used a blue from the Morphe 35U palette. I used the NYX baked eyeshadow in the inner corner and layered Lumi on top of it. I used the Chi Chi eyeliner in Electra to line under my lower lash line and then used the Lime Crime eyeliner for the wing. For the mascara I used the Essence Lash Princess. Lipstick used is the NYX one. 

Btw it was an awesome movie, I would definitely recommend it for people who like Sci-Fi, Action, Comedy's. I would like to congratulate Rooster Teeth on their first ever movie and it was a great movie. Definitely better than Pixel's, that's for sure.
